VIDEO: Google Slides Plugin Tutorial

With the Google Slides Plugin, you can now give your users access to preview your presentations right in your app. This is a very handy tool for teachers to upload lecture slides, speakers and professionals to showcase their conference slides, and for the internal company use of meeting slides to make sure everyone’s on the right page.

Pro Tip 1:

Please note that while Editable Mode is an option, choosing it does not guarantee that you can edit your Google Slides on mobile. This is a limitation of Google’s.

Pro Tip 2:

If you’re uploading an important presentation, feel free to send out a notification to all of your users to let them know.

Hi there! And welcome to our Google Slides Plugin video.

If you haven’t done so already, please be sure to watch our 2-Minute Overview video first before moving onto any other help videos, including this one.

Now, onto the Google Slides Plugin.

  • The Google Slides Plugin allows you to insert the presentations you create on Google Slides, allowing your user a seamless experience while looking through your deck.

Creating a Google Slides Plugin

To add a Google Slides plugin to your app, go to Plugins and Add Plugin. Find the Google Slides Plugin, click add, then name it.

You’ll see here that there are two modes: Preview and Editable.

Please do not choose Editable Mode, as Google Slides currently does not have the option to let you edit your Slides mobiley. Select Preview mode, which will allow you and your users to look through the slides. All you need to do now is input the link to your presentation here and click validate.

Be sure that your Google Slides share settings are set up so that anyone with the link can view it.

Adding the Google Slides Plugin to Your App

Now the plugin has been created and exists, but is not yet accessible to users. You will need to add it to the app on the Home Plugin, in a Folder Plugin, and/or to the Side Menu. To add it to the Home Plugin, go to Home Plugin, scroll down and click “Add Plugin Instance”. Now select the Google Slides Plugin you created. To add it to a Folder Plugin, navigate to the Folder Plugin and click on “Add Plugin Instance”. To add it to the Side Menu, go to Plugins then Side Menu and click on “Add Plugin Instance”.

Your Google Slides Plugin is now accessible within your app. Don’t forget to click Publish to push out your changes. If you haven’t upgraded, please upgrade so that you can publish your changes. Thank you so much for watching. Be sure to check out our other Help Videos and we’ll see you next time!
